"Cooking for VNA" Serves Up Support for Children

14 May

Council Bluffs community leaders displayed hidden culinary talents as their favorite recipes were showcased through cooking demonstrations at the Visiting Nurse Association’s 2nd Annual “Cooking for VNA” fundraiser.  Operation Frontline participated in the event that was held on May 6 at the Mid America Center in Council Bluffs, IA.   OFL Volunteer Chef Robert Murnan with Sedexo joined coordinators Sarah Lewis and Katee Upton to demonstrate a very delicious Gazpacho recipe that was well received by the event participants!

Attendees were encouraged to vote for their favorite dish by making a contribution to the chef’s “tip jar.” A top chef was honored during a short presentation after dinner.   Congratulations to this years winners Elaine & Bob Fenner who made Louisiana Canapés and Apple Salsa with Lime!  All proceeds benefit the VNA’s services for families with infants and young children living in Pottawattamie County.
